Bo Hatchett is a trial lawyer and a Georgia State Senator. He has been a member of the Georgia State Senate since January 2021, representing nine counties in Northeast Georgia. Before that, Bo was a two-sport Division 1 athlete. Both demand the same thing: preparation, composure under pressure, and the ability to perform when it matters most.

Bo focuses his practice on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, sexual assault and abuse cases, complex negligence claims, business litigation, and high-stakes insurance disputes. He handles matters involving severe injuries, fatalities, institutional abuse, negligent supervision, and cases where victims face powerful defendants and insurance carriers who count on the other side not being ready to go to trial. Bo is always ready.
His legislative work gives him a direct understanding of how Georgia law is made and how policy decisions affect real people in civil litigation. That perspective informs how he thinks about cases, how he prepares juries, and how he anticipates the legal arguments on the other side.
Bo and Jackson McDonald have known each other since childhood. They obtained a $17.2-million-dollar verdict in 2025, one of the largest verdicts in the state for that year.
Bo earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he competed on the National Moot Court and Mock Trial teams. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he served as captain of the varsity swim team.
Bo and his wife Ashley Hatchett, also an attorney, live in Habersham County, Georgia with their four daughters. The Hatchett family is involved in community service and local advocacy across Northeast Georgia. Bo’s roots here are deep and genuine. He is not a transplant. He grew up here, went to school here, and chose to come back.
